" Draw the garbha, which is my amsa, Sesha, of Devaki from her womb and place it in Rohini's and I will become the son of Devaki with all my amsa and you will be born to Yasodha , the wife of Nandha."
The Lord further said that she will beknown in the world with mnay names sucha s Durga, Badrakali, Naarayanee,VaishNav ee, Maya, Sharadha Ambika etc. and people will worship her to fulfil their desires. This is how Durga devi came to be called the sister of the Lord, Harisodhari.
In Bhagavatham we have the avtaras of the Lord mentioned where the Krishnavathara is referred to as krishnasthu bhagavaan svayam, which is confirmed here by the words of the Lord that He will enter into Devaki amSabhagena, in His full powers. amSam bhajathe ithi amSabhaak, thena amSabhaagena, one who has many powers which are the part of Him. amsabhaaga does not mean by part, bhaaga.
Then the Lord entered the mind of Vasudeva and he shone like a Sun. From Him the Lord entered Devaki who looked like the Eastern direction about to give moon to the world. The words used to describe the entry of the Lord inside Vasudeva and Devaki denote that the body of Krishna was through mind and not by the combination of elements.
The word used here is aavirbhabhoova, manifested, not born. Devaki was compared to the eastern direction which in reality does not contain the Moon but only a pretext of the appearance of the Moon. Devaki shone with the achyuthaamsa in her who is jagnamangalaH and sarvaathmaka aathma bhoothaH , the full moon which was achyuthaamSa , the Lord with unfailing glory and who is the inner self of all beings, with the bliss in her mind.
Kamsa who was obsessed with the eighth child of Devaki to be born, saw Him always in his mind's he was standing, eating, or moving around so that the whole world looked as though it is full with the Lord Hari for him. Seeing Devaki before the birth of Krishna Kamsa was sure that it was Lord Hari who was inside her and awaited the birth of the child anxiously.
Brahma and other devas came there and praised the Lord who was about to be born.
The Lord was addressed as the supreme reality, Brahman who manifests in the world in different forms such as the Fish etc., to save the humanity, and by His help as with a boat the people are able to cross the sea of samsara. Then they told Devaki that the Supreme Purusha was going to manifest as her son to save the world from the kings like Kamsa.
The time of birth of Krshna drew near and the star Rohini rose, the directions were clear, the sky was clear with stars shining. Everywhere the auspicious signs could be seen. The rivers were clear and the lotuses were seen in the water fronts. The birds and bees were singing happily with the flowers blossoming everywhere. The wind was pure and fragrant and the fires in the sacrificial altars which were quiet during the evil reign of Kamsa started burning bright. The hearts of the sages were filled with peace. And the usual paraphernalia which is present during any event of divine significance like the trumpets sounding and the celestial damsels dancing in the sky followed.
The birth of Krishna is described in the Srimadbhagavatham as follows:
thadhadhbhutham baalakam ambujekshaNam
chathurbhujam Sankhagadhaadhyudha ayuDham
Sreevathsalakshmam galaSobhikousthubha m
peethaambaram saandhrapayodhasoub hagam
mahaarhavaidhooryak ireetakundala-
thvishaa parishvakthasahanna kunthalam
uddhaamakaanchyanga dha kankaNaadhibhiH
virochamaanam vasudheva aikshatha
Vasudeva saw that wonderful child with lotus eyes, four arms, wielding the weapons conch, disc, mace etc., with his neck adorned with kousthubha and marked with srivatsa, wearing yellow silk garment with a hue of rain-bearing clouds, his hair shining with the lustre of his crown and ear rings made of diamond and also adorned with other ornaments like girdle, armband bracelet etc.
This clearly show that Krishna was no born as a human child as it is not possible for anyone to give birth to such a child. Hence he is describes as adhbhutha baalaka, wonderful child.
